My wish would be to have peace of mind by paying off my phone bill, having gas to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my extended family and obtaining any job referrals w/good companies still hiring in this tough economy, due to job loss. Money is very tight although I know that there will be light at the end of the tunnel and that I am not alone in these tough times. Specific wishes would be: Help with Telephone Bills oustanding - 200.64 (Any small amounts would help - I have dial-up and a landline which my job-hunting depends on to continue to search) Gas/Gas Card -$60 to attend Thanksgiving weekend with my extended family Any referrals to good companies hiring that I may research (Exec. Asst. or Sales/Marketing Administrative Mgmnt)

My Story

I have been job-hunting non-stop in my tiny apt. since late Sept. when my contract was ended abruptly, by the corp.I was doing work for, due to the bad economy. I am my sole support & was underearning prev. due to the restricted economy earlier this year, limiting my resources to draw on. Job opps. right now are very scarce although I am confident that the right job will appear.

My goal is to catch up on my phone bill(my lifeline to jobseeking)and relax over Thanksgiving weekend/refuel my energy for my job search.

I am a degreed professional who is looking for a stable opportunity with a co. - preferably permanent or long-term temp that pays commeasurate with my experience and skills.

If you know of a good co. hiring or any skilled/ personable recruiters in the S.Bay, L.Beach, Airport,S. Monica,Culv. Cty,W.L.A. area and would care to share, please do.

I am in college and just need eight more units to get my degree! I am hoping to go to India with a study abroad program for these last few units but can't afford it! The program costs about $5000, without airfare.. Anything would help!

My Story

Ever since visiting Italy last summer I have become OBSESSED with traveling! I am a college student at UC Davis and have and opportunity to study abroad in India this upcoming summer. I am about to graduate and need this program to complete my last eight units, and to get a minor in International and Global Studies. Since I became aware of the program I have been saving like crazy, but I really don’t think that I am going to have enough and I really don’t know what to do! Please help me finish my degree, and fulfill my passion for travel!!!

Maria moved into the Studio on October 1, 2008. Although she has the safety and security of a place to live she, lacks the household items necessary to really call her place home. The following is a list of what will help Maria get settled in:

-Sheets, blankets & pillows for a twin bed

-Towels & washcloths

-Dishes, silverware & household utensils

-A microwave (she has no stove)

-Cleaning supplies

-A love seat

-A small television

My Story

In 2001 Maria Justiniano became a client of Harbor Interfaith Services. Maria received services such as food and basic necessities for her and her daughter. In 2005, she became homeless and lost custody of her daughter. Maria had been living in motels, garages and even the streets. With a limited income , it’s almost impossible to live in a place called “home”.

As the years went by, things did not get better. In November of 2007, Maria was diagnosed with Cancer of the Immune System. Since then, Harbor Interfaith Services has been helping her look for shelter. Maria had a pet dog with her, whom she cared for so much. Her dog was not just a pet, her doctor’s identified her dog as a service animal. She was unable to find shelter because no shelter would accept pets. Unwilling to give up her pet, the situation became even more difficult.
