Stevie is a great kid he helps others all the time, he volunteers at the local home and helps serve them dinner. he really needs some decent clothes for school, not to mention christmas it breaks my heart that this year I can't afford to get him anything, we are losing our home, we have very little to eat, and it kills me to even post this and ask strangers for a little help. Stevie likes to read so books, cars, video games, and pokeman cards, he also likes skateboarding and these new little toys called bakugon.

My Story
My story begins when my husband was in the hopital due to a major infection that almost killed him. during that time I lost my job. I have applied for unemployment and they refused at first but I fought them and won. I am getting a little with that but our bills are so far behind it really doesn't help. anyway stevie still believes in Santa I don't know what to tell him on Christmas morning if I can't get him anything. He is not a bad boy at all and I don't want him to think he is. please if anyone out there has even a dollar extra to spare (I know times are hard right now) please find it in your heart to help Stevie.Thank you for help. many Blessings

Harbor Interfaith Services assisted Chermyra with a Section 8 application in the month of November 2008. Chermyra signed her lease on April 7, 2009 and had been authorized to move in on April 10, 2009. Upon meeting with Cherymyra in her new apartment, HIS case managers noted that she and her son were doing well. Chermyra continues to attend Harbor College taking her General Education courses with her overall goal to get into the Nursing Program. Now in her new apartment, Chermyra is in need of the following items: -Solid color living room furniture set (pref. black) - Queen Sized bed - Two clothes dressers - Pots and Pans - Coffee Table - TV stand - Four barstool chairs (pref. black) - Throw rugs -Cordless telephone If you are interested in sending items directly to Chermyra, please contact Jana Jones at 310-831-0603 for her address. Thanks for your generosity!

My Story
Chermyra is a 23 year old single mother of a one year-old son. Chermyra lived with her grandmother in San Pedro all her life until age 20 when she was suddenly asked to leave the household. Chermyra then moved in with a friend in LA for 3 months; Chermyra then moved in with her child’s father in LA at his parents and stayed there until the summer of 2007 when she and her son moved in with a family friend in Gardena. Chermyra stayed with this friend until March 2008 when she moved back to her grandmother’s home. The living situation was not a healthy one for Chermyra and her son so she moved in with another friend in Wilmington in May 2008. Chermyra Davis entered into the Harbor Interfaith Emergency Family shelter program in September of 2008 with a goal of permanent housing, becoming a Registered Nurse and gaining employment. Chermyra had been attending Harbor College before entering Harbor Interfaith program. She has maintained class courses during her stay; she has followed all program rules, attended Case Management meetings, workshops and all required outings.

Every year at Foothills Auction and Realty in Morganton, NC., our patrons donate new toys to the toy box. These toys are given to children in our area who otherwise would not have any. We appreciate any donations anyone can give and we also welcome any who need help to get in touch. We have a great need of gifts for all ages but especially gifts that can be enjoyed by 12 yr olds and older.

My Story
I have the pleasure of working for a company who has the most awesome patrons in the world. We have been blessed to be able to aid them in giving to the kids in our community. Three years ago, this project was suggested by and the first donation given by Kurt and Missy Hefner out of Gastonia, NC who we thank immensely. Without them, we may not have had this blessing to share.

Through her hard work Rebecca was able to save enough money to get an apartment for her and her children. She is requesting a refrigerator because the refrigerator currently in the apartment does not work. She also needs a kitchen table with chairs; a coffee table; a large rug and rug runners, a twin bed for her youngest son, dressers, a microwave, shelves and storage bins. Yes I am a divorced woman of 52yrs. I am unemployed as is most of the country. My car broke down and is in need of repair. I am unable to go out looking for work or go on interviews. I have a family member who looked at it and said it will take at least $400.00 to repair it. I do not have any money at all.

My Story
As I said above I am divorced and no job and no money. I am unable to go out for interviews or search for a job. I also have a sister who has Metastatic Melanoma and if something was to happen to her I would not have a way to get to her. She lives 150 miles away. She is terminally ill. Could someone please help?

My youngest son who is autistic just recently turned 11 and his older brother was supposed to get him a x-box 360 for his birthday as we could not afford one. Right before his b-day my eldest son quit his job and left the state without even saying goodbye to us much less happy birthday to his brother. My youngest son is missing his brother terribly as he didn't even receive a b-day card. I think if he received a bunch of cards and maybe a donation of a dollar or more we could get him what he was promised. thank you in advance for even reading this.

My Story
I am a 37 year old married mother of two boys. My oldest is 18 and just moved out and my youngest is 10 years old and autistic and is at home with me. I am married to a wonderful man named rich. I am bipolar and agoraphobic so I am not able to leave my house except for rare occasions. I was adopted as a 2yr old in the state of georgia and now live in chandler, arizona. I found my birth mother 9 years ago and found out that I had 7 brothers and sisters. Unfortunatly, I also found out that all of them including my mother have the mentality of first graders and they all live in the backwoods of georgia in a house with no windows or doors. You can imagine my surprise but I guess it explained alot about my mental problems. Aside from all that, I have led a pretty good life. I was blessed with a husband who has loved me and stood by me through my problems and has done everything he can to be the backbone of my family. My sons are beautiful and have so far turned out wonderfully. My only failing with them I think is that because of my agoraphobia, I have not been able to be as involved with them or their activities as I wish I could be. It is more difficult with my 10 year old because he is autistic and needs extra help all the time. All in all, my life is a good one, I know there are so many people out there who are worse off than me and I try to help whenever and with whatever I can. Now that I have found this website, I will be able to do it more from my home. Anyway, For anyone reading this, bless you and I hope your wishes all come true.

I am on the verge of losing the last thing that our family has: our home. It's not the greatest of homes; it is in dire need of repair, but we love our home and I'm willing to do just about anything to try and save it. We have lived here for the past 12 years and unless I can find a way to generate $50,000, we could very well be on the streets. It seems like such a large amount. It's more than what most people make in a year --- but I think it's all about how you look at things. $50,000 is a lot and way too much to ask of anyone ... but $5 is not that much ... do you think that there are 10,000 people in Southern California that would be willing to donate $5 to help save a family from losing their home?

My Story
I have always tried to leave my corner of the world better than how I found it. I do volunteer work, participate in my children's education, and try to help others if I can. Believe me, I have flaws too, I am definitely not implying that I am better or more deserving than anyone else. In my community service, I have never been able to do anything "news-worthy", but I hope that the things I do are appreciated by the 1-2 people that I try to affect at a time. I have owned and operated a home-based business for the past eight years, for the first six years, we had moderate success, but with the downturn in the economy, our business has definitely suffered. I have struggled to keep our family afloat for the past two years and now the ship is definitely sinking, even the rats have abandoned ship.

My mother is really struggling with life. She is trying to decide whether to pay for food, buy medicine or pay rent with nothing. She has no income. Her unemployment has run out and she didn't even qualify for public assistance. If someone can offer a helping hand, it would greatly be appreciated. She does not even know that I am requesting assistance on her behalf. My family and I have done all we can to sustain her in this hardship.

My Story
My mother has really come upon some hard times. She lost her job in December to to the fact that she was admitted to the hospital for a spike in her glucose of 800. The doctor stated that if she hadn't made it to the hospital when she did, she would have died. My family and I have done all we can do and more to assist her in these difficult times, yet we are experiencing the same. My mom has to eat at regulary scheduled times. Juggling between eating and paying her rent has almost become impossible. Her unemployment has run out and she was denied for social security. She is nearly about to give up on life and it is tearing my heart apart.

I was laid off from my job because I am no longer a student and cant find a position anywhere. I am hired at 4 diff places including the promise to start at the oil refinery the 1 week of Jan but because of the economic crisis we were all kept on hold. I am in the last week of an 8 week training course provided through a grant. The gas was expensive and I paid only 1/2 of rent. I need to make up the rent this month and pay the co-pays on my medications so a gas card for the month would help me get caught up. I used $230 for the gas to drive back and forth to class.

My Story
I am a single woman training for a new career. I had the opportunity to take free training and took advantage of it. However, I didn't have enough money for the gas so I used some of the rent money. I don't want to ask for cash for the rent money so if someone helped me with gas this month, I could use my gas money to pay the rent. It would be very much appreciated. I do help others with my words and my actions. Thank You.

Letticia recently moved into her own apartment and is in need of furniture and other household items. Her wish list includes: - A white couch - Coffee table - Living room chair - Kitchen chairs - Crib - White full sheets - pots and pans - toys and clothes for her 9 month old son For larger items and/or furniture, please call Maya Uffenheimer prior to delivery at (310) 831-0603. Thank you for your generosity.

My Story
Letticia was one of 10 children raised by her grandmother. She left home at age 17 and was doing well on her own, until she found herself alone and four months pregnant. When her pregnancy became high-risk she was forced to stop working. She slept on friends' and families' couches and even in her van until her aunt told her about Harbor Interfaith. She entered Harbor Interfaith's Emergency Shelter program last spring, while in her third trimester but still managed to attend GED courses. Shortly after entering the program, Letticia had her baby boy, Vincent. Now Letticia and Vincent are living in their own apartment. Letticia is attending nursing classes and volunteering in the community while Vincent attends World Tot Preschool. They are doing very well, but still need a bit of help to make their house a home.
