My wish would be to have peace of mind by paying off my phone bill, having gas to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my extended family and obtaining any job referrals w/good companies still hiring in this tough economy, due to job loss. Money is very tight although I know that there will be light at the end of the tunnel and that I am not alone in these tough times. Specific wishes would be: Help with Telephone Bills oustanding - 200.64 (Any small amounts would help - I have dial-up and a landline which my job-hunting depends on to continue to search) Gas/Gas Card -$60 to attend Thanksgiving weekend with my extended family Any referrals to good companies hiring that I may research (Exec. Asst. or Sales/Marketing Administrative Mgmnt)

My Story
I have been job-hunting non-stop in my tiny apt. since late Sept. when my contract was ended abruptly, by the corp.I was doing work for, due to the bad economy. I am my sole support & was underearning prev. due to the restricted economy earlier this year, limiting my resources to draw on. Job opps. right now are very scarce although I am confident that the right job will appear. My goal is to catch up on my phone bill(my lifeline to jobseeking)and relax over Thanksgiving weekend/refuel my energy for my job search. I am a degreed professional who is looking for a stable opportunity with a co. - preferably permanent or long-term temp that pays commeasurate with my experience and skills. If you know of a good co. hiring or any skilled/ personable recruiters in the S.Bay, L.Beach, Airport,S. Monica,Culv. Cty,W.L.A. area and would care to share, please do.

Rebecca would not let her housing setbacks hinder her; she still continued to work at her children’s school and go to school part-time. Additionally she found work at a graveyard to make extra money. Through her hard work Rebecca was able to save enough money to get an apartment for her and her children. She is requesting a refrigerator because the refrigerator currently in the apartment does not work. She also needs a kitchen table with chairs; a coffee table; a large rug and rug runners, a twin bed for her youngest son, dressers, a microwave, shelves and storage bins. For larger items and/or furniture, please call Jana Jones prior to delivery 310 831-0603. Thank you.

My Story
Rebecca Delgado is a divorced mother of three children – Angel age 16, Vanessa age 11 and Anthony age 9. After her divorce from her husband, Rebecca and her children had been living with her grandmother in Lomita. Sadly her grandmother past away and an uncle gave the Delgados three days to find another place to live. With no other options, the family was forced to live in their minivan. Rebecca was living in her van when she was finally accepted in the Harbor Interfaith Services’ Emergency Family Shelter.

I would really love for my family to enjoy a nice meal for the holidays. My mother has taught us growing up that it doesn't matter how poor you are but as long as your love ones are still with you. I have let go of material items, but to have a beautiful meal where we could all sit and enjoy would make me so grateful.

My Story
I am a college student, who lives with my mother. My mother has supported 4 children all alone, and even without a high school diploma has started taking classes at a college, despite her working so much. I know she loves us so much, and us, her children, she is all we have. She tries hard to make holidays special for us, but if just one time, we could have that one special meal, it would be a relief on her, and a joy to our family. We do not have food at our home, and so to finally just have a meal and not worry about tomorrow, would be such a great feeling. Thank you so much.

The living situation was not a healthy one for Chermyra and her son so she moved in with another friend in Wilmington in May 2008. I have very little food for my daughter. I am doing without and so is my husband so she can have what is left. Her clothes are so tight and she needs shorts t-shirts and a few dresses. I wish I had a gift card for Food and some clothes for my daughter.

My Story
I am married and my husband has been out of work for awhile. He had a good job then he was laid off. He got a job at a temporary agency, but it doesn't start until the 6th of July. I keep telling my daughter that I will get her some food soon we just have to eat what we have and it's just soup right now. She complains everyday that her pants are too tight and wants to know why I can't get her some clothes. I applied for foodstamps and have to wait up too 45 days for a decision. It's frustrating when we cant provide basic needs for our 6 year old. Not even toilet paper. If anyone can help us I have exhausted all resources. The job is great but we need help now. Thanks and God Bless
